15 mbps vs. 10kb download speed, what's the deal?
I am so confused. We just got 15mbps speed internet, which is amazing when it works properly on my laptop. It is very fast, as compared to our previous 1mbps. However, there seems to be a problem with my laptop because it uses less than 1mbps of the 15, and no other devices are using the internet. Even if others were, it should never go under 1 anyways. Does anyone know if maybe my laptop's receiver is just stupid, or if maybe the internet modem/router just doesn't like my laptop.
It has previously used all of the 15mbps, so it has worked properly. Now it uses much less than 1, and I could barely even open Y!A. Other devices run smoothly, just mot my laptop.
Yes, wireless. Yep, strong signal. When the speed is slow, it affects all websites.
I will check drivers etc, thanks. It is fixed, with a company (Liberty).
I am talking about my download speed, my upload is a mere 2mbps

Could be a couple of things. Assuming you are using wireless on your laptop, what is your signal strength? If you are in a location with low signal strength then your throughput will be affected. Is this on every website or just certain ones? Not all sites on the web are created equal and you may be seeing bandwidth issues that are external to your 15mbps.

Your upload speed is usually less than the download speed. What speed are you posting?
