Should I go to the gynecologist?

I'm turning 16 in less than a week. I am sick and tired of using pads. I have used them for almost 4 years because I have never been able to use a tampon. At first, I thought I would be able to, but every time I have tried ever, it doesn't go in at all... I looked (sorry for TMI) down there, and there is only a tiny opening for blood to come out of.

I think I need to have the doctor check it out because using pads has gotten in the way of my life. What would the doctor do and should I tell my mom?

If you think there a problem you should go. Tell your mom you have an issue and want to see a gynecologist.

This is something you will eventually learn to insert correctly. A medical exam, a pelvic, is not necessary to obtain this experience.
