I had the Marines stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base do this for me in my younger days to pay homage simply because I had been kind to them during a time when many Marines were returning home from the Vietnam War injured and/or traumatized...they called me "Little Mom" or occasionally (if I bawled them out) an affectionate "Little Sh*t". This was a way of honoring me, I understood, and I always thought this was called an "Honor Guard" because one of the Marines offered me his arm as I walked under the arch of the swords (or sabers). But maybe James is correct to call this a "sabre arch"...

Apparently, It's both an honor guard and a sabre arch, but since sabre arch is more specific to my question, James gets Best Answer.
