Usually it's point gaming, but sometimes for the sake of bringing a little personality to the site, someone will answer irreverently or humorously. And if they're clever enough, their answer really will be funny.
By the way, a consensus among some of the Big Points holders in this category is that rhetorical questions are violations, see this link:

I dared to write a response that defended the posting of rhetorical questions and it was reported and deleted. I then posed a question asking why my response was reported and deleted...and IT was reported and deleted. Ha, ha, talk about funny...!
