Every office does things a bit differently so what I tell you may not be what will happen for you.
There are several different ways to remove the braces. You will probably feel some pressure, but nothing should hurt.
Some offices take the wires out, then gently pop the brackets off. Some offices pop the brackets off while they are still attached to the wires. Either way is fine, there is no "best" way.
They will remove the adhesive (glue) from your teeth with a little "scraper" instrument or, possibly, a special little buffer. They take impressions for your retainers. You might get retainers later that day or you might need to wait several days. There are different types of retainers and some take longer to make than others.
Some offices take x-rays and photos.
After you get your retainers, wear them exactly as the orthodontist tells you. If you don't, there's a chance your teeth could move and shift back to where they were before braces.
Enjoy your new smile!

Im currently at my third year in uni studying orthodontics and i love it. It vary 's with different practises, but most pull the wires out, and then apply pressure to both sides, popping the brackets off. Then using a little sander they chip away the leftover cement. I had braces about 8 years ago now and i can remember what it feels like, your tooth is being applied pressure. Nothing to worry about, its nothing like the pain of actually tightening braces.
hope it goes well Hun. Inbox me if you are still nervous. :)

Well I got my braces off almost 4 years ago, so if I remember correctly, first, the take out the wire. Then they pluck the thing that's on your teeth, off. Then they clean your teeth. I don't remember if it hurt or not, but seeing as I don't remember, it probably didn't hurt. :)
