Question about upload and download speeds?
So right now I have Comcast which claims I get 105 Mbps download and 10 upload. Well their service has been utter **** lately and when testing the speed on my laptop ten feet from our router I actually got 22 download/12 upload. I've been looking into Fios and I was wondering if the 50 download/50upload is going to perform better.
For the record I hate Comcast and would love to do away with my services with them regardless so I don't care to hear about people defending the companies themselves... Just a tech question regarding Internet speeds.

Is the laptop using wireless, or is it wired? That makes a difference in speeds. Always test network speeds while wired, never over wireless. Wireless has other issues with interference, lag, and other factors.
Changing providers may not make any difference in your speeds, if the limiting factor is your internal metwork or laptop (ie Wifi)

Almost NO provider can reliably deliver 100 Mbps downstream. But NEVER test speeds with a wireless connection, use a wired one.
