Piercings done in any home environment are just a terrible idea, nothing will be sterile the moment the packaging is opened. The risk of infection is GREATLY increased. Numbing agents don't do much of anything to help the pain of piercings, it will still hurt, and they can only cause complications. They'd have to be injected to be truly effective which completely defeats the purpose. No reputable piercer would condone the use of numbing agents.
