I can't just choose one! My short-list of favorites, in no particular order:

Cannibal Corpse, Burzum, Archspire on the Metal side.

I still like King Crimson and Frank Zappa for more adventurous Rock.

I like some of the old music such as Hall & Oates. Newer artists- Taylor Swift

My favorite artist is Sakis Gouzonis. He writes very beautiful electronic instrumental music.
