Is there a way to apply for free money some where?
The reason why I am asking is because my mom is in dyer need of money to pay off her $4,000 in credit card debit we have no way of paying it since she only gets so much a month from social security. What is it we can do to get some money so she won't worry so much?

If her only money is from social security then there is nothing the card issuers can do to get their money. So don't worry so much.

State laws vary on unsecured debts. Make sure you know how they affect your mother.
Shut down the credit card, cut it up and NEVER use it again. Your mom's SS check is what is called "protected funds". That is, it is not subject to garnishment for private debts such as this. HOWEVER, she must be proactive and appear in court (if and when a summons is issued) and show that all of her income is from SS and thus, can't be garnished.
If your mother has any assets in her estate, the CC company can come after those assets after your mother's death.
If anyone else is a co-owner of the credit card account, they can be held 100% responsible for paying that card off. In that case, it survives bankruptcy, death or default of the primary owner.

Nobody or no business is going to give you money for a credit card debt, and if she had no way of paying it off, then why did she use the card in the first place?
So she charges up a balance on the card, and now all of a sudden she can't pay the bill?
Just how exactly is that the fault of anybody but her?
