Kobe wants more NBA Championships but he's not willing to take less money so that his Team can add good players around him. He should look at what Tim Dunca, dirk Nowtiski, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh have done.

Why should he retire? He can contribute plenty, as we saw last season, he's sill capable of putting up 40. The only problem was his fatigue, which won't be a problem if the Lakers bring in some help this offseason. As for the money, Kobe hasn't needed the money for a while now. At this point, he's playing for the love of the game.

Realistically. Kobe doesn't have a lot more years left in him. That's why he is maximizing everything for the last time before he retires. It's like a retirement paycheck.

Kobe Bryant is due to make $25 million next year, just like he did this year. No one is going to leave $25 million on the table for one year, especially if it's going to be his last big payday from playing in the NBA.
