if you were given the chance would you be able to seize what you desire most if it harmed another individual?

When I wake up in the morning I grab my phone to see what time it is. Right there is an international activity where everyone is involved. The phone was manufactured in another country which means that my activity effects in some way and is effected in some way by something that goes on in that far away country. How am I to know what Karma comes with this phone? How am I to know that whoever made it is well and still working? Or did he work and not get paid? If he worked and didn't get paid I am guilty of a crime. As I reflected upon the coffee I was drinking in the early 80's and how it came from El Salvador. Where the government slaughtered anyone who opposed the coffee plantations. It is so nice to have a warm cup of coffee in the morning knowing this... as I hop in my car and go to the gas station to fill up never reflecting the problems we had getting that fuel to us. We have to bomb and shoot and kill anything that interferes with us being able to drive around. What is it that I desire most? All of it. But not at such a cost. I can moderate my consumption if it will ease the stress and pain of those who make it happen for me.

Fulfilling our desire by harming another individual does not give us real happiness..... I would not seize the chance unless and until the desire becomes an obsession.
