Perché l'Illiade è considerata un opera così importante?

Rispetto ad esempio all'epopea di Gilgamesh o le saghe nordiche?

    Intanto perché è uno dei pochi poemi epici arrivati a noi grazie ai greci del sesto secolo avanti cristo che lo hanno trascritto, essendo un opera orale tramandata da cantori. E poi perché dimostrava la potenza dei greci.
