Using Excel 2003,having trouble displaying drop down list content for newly named lists.?
On my first sheet, I successfully referenced a drop down list to a named cell range on sheet labeled as 1, attempted to create another named cell range on sheet labeled as 2 for a second drop down list but I constantly get only the name of the named range....anyone have ideas what it is am doing wrong here? When defining the name of the list, it displays absolute reference values, i.e., = 2 !$C$2:$C$20
Typed incorrectly the absolute reference, it is setup as
='2'!$C$2:$C$20

I'm not familiar with the 03 menus, but in later editions Formulas → Define Names → Name Manager
Delete all entries pertaining to selected cells in the second RANGE labeled as as 2 !$C$2:$C$20 or what ever.
Once all entries have been removed close the Name Manager and rename the Range.

FIXED......when performing the data validation, selecting list, I was entering just the name of the list The error was in not including the =, thus =Listname fixed my problem. Maybe this entry will help someone with similar trouble.
