Poll and or Survey... Does anyone really care about thumbs up or down?

I don't care either. I say what I think and believe, instead of sugar coating it or being nice enough or trying to give an answer that is agreeable with everyone. I don't really care if someone dislikes my answer or not, I say the truth, lol. And sometimes I'm sarcastic.

Obviously, or you wouldn't ask and get so many responses.

When someone gives a truly good answer, I thumb up. When it is complete and utter nonsense, I thumb down. In most categories the asker can pick the good answers from the bad answers. (Politics and religion not withstanding.)

One of my first questions on Yahoo had to do with paying taxes on SSDI. I received 15 answers. 7 said I should, 7 said I shouldn't, and the last one was you're basic "I just wanted the two points." I would have never received a good answer, if I didn't notice one person received nothing but thumbs up and one person received nothing but thumbs down. Lucky me! I didn't have to pay taxes. lol (Truthfully, I was untrusting, so I called the IRS and asked, which supported the Best Answer given complete with a dozen thumbs up.)

Not really, unless a troll sets up ten accounts and goes around giving the same users TDs. That is not cool and should be reported to the team.

yes. we are powerless on here, except for the limited privileges given to level 7s. without thumbing down people, what other powers would i have? right now, i'm thumbing you down. enjoy.
