I was informed that my Mother just passed away last week.?

No call er email just a letter. I know Mom wanted her estate to be split between us so what can I do. In the letter she stated there was no money left and she is keeping the house.. The house is valued at $86,938 on line. She also stated that Mom had several strokes so I figured she took advantage of her.

Where do I start to make sure I get my share ?

You need to find out if there was a will. Your sister will have to file it in the county where your mother died within so many days of the death. If there is no will then other rules apply. Each state has different rules for someone who dies intestate without a will. You most likely need to get a lawyer. Call the local bar association where your Mom lived and ask for an estate lawyer referral. If your sister is executor of the will she will be ultimately responsible to the court, and everything will need to be accounted for.

John, I am sorry for your loss.

Contact a lawyer. If there's no will, then I think chances are good that the money will be split evenly.

Who is "she"? Not your mother obviously, but how can anyone respond without knowing?
