Why are the new YA! profile pics CIRCLE SHAPED?

What's wrong with square avatars? And why does the name appear at the BOTTOM of the answer?

    Because Yahoo is heavily invested in Alibaba which is a Chinese company like Amazon but on the other side of the globe which is rounded. Thus the shape shows we are all connected.

    I don't think the world will stop because our avatars have gone round.As YA tends to do,they continually change things that aren't broken,but really,does it matter what shape they are?
