Photoshop CS2 brushes looking scratchy?
I have had this problem in CS2 and Elements 8. Out of nowhere, my brushes start looking scratchy. This isn t like the common "pixelated brush" error, where it switches between brush and pencil, this is something different. I m extraordinarily frustrated with this. Thanks for your help.

How does it look at 100% zoom?
Many of the "scratches" here are artifacts from using a different zoom level, and should not appear at 100%.
It might also be related to your video card driver (though I don't recall CS2 using it much), so maybe try updating it.
