I have PCOS, will I ever be able to have kids?
I wa diagnosed with PCOS last year in May. I had a regular period for about 8 years then I started to have a irregular out of no where and began to get it every 6 months if that so I went to the doctors to see what was going on. They told me I had PCOS and that I needed to get on birth control as well as Metphormin to control my hormon levels and that should supposedly do the trick and help me conceive when I was ready. Well I'm ready now and me and my partner have been trying for months now and nothing. I still don't have a regular period and the doctors say I still have PCOS And I feel I've done everything in my power and still nothing! They say it's going to be difficult and that I run a risk of I actually conceive that I will loose it. Does this mean I won't ever be able to have kids? Please help me :(

Women with PCOS often have some difficulty in getting pregnant on their own. The rate of spontaneous conception is somewhere around 40%. I have PCOS as well, and have had very irregular periods since I started them I was on the pill for several years which gave me regular periods, but then started to get migraines so was taken off the pill. I went back to having periods once or twice a year. A couple of years ago I saw an endocrinologist who started me on metformin. Since then I've been having frequent periods, but they're still irregular and I'm probably not ovulating. If that's the case for you and your periods are still irregular, you may not be ovulating regularly. You need to speak to your doctor as there are several options available to try to make you ovulate. Clomiphene (clomid) stimulates ovulation and has a pretty good success rate in women with PCOS. As far as I'm aware, you're not at any higher risk of miscarriage just because of PCOS.

Yes, it is possible to have kids with PCOS.
My friend's mom has PCOS, and was able to have 3 healthy babies.
You just may have to go on a lot of medications. Talk with your doctor again about some fertility treatment options.
Also, put out the positive evergy! Keep thinking to yourself that you WILL get pregnant, and you WILL have a healthy child. I pray for you :) good luck!
