When does the walking dead get good?

I've watched the first episode of the walking dead and I'll be honest it hasn't wow'd me, I'm a massive breaking bad fan and some people say the walking dead is better than breaking bad, but after seeing the first episode I seriously doubt it but let me no when it starts to get really good!

Being a fan of both, I can assure you that "The Walking Dead" is not as amazing as Breaking Bad. Very few things in this existence are better than "Breaking Bad"...

Some of my friends tell me that love, childbirth, emotional enlightenment, are great experiences... but I am yet to see evidence that they are in any way better than Breaking Bad...

Most Walking Dead fans would acknowledge that the show is simply not in the same league as "Breaking Bad". Nonetheless... within it's own context, I love The Walking Dead. No need to compare it to any other show. It is doing something that is quite original and extraordinary. I love it and I hate it. It entrances me and frustrates me. The performances are gripping and memorable. At the same time, I yearn for a sense of purpose, I don't want to keep watching these characters being picked off, by one disaster after another... and yet I do keep watching, there is just enough there to make me hope for more.

I just recently got into The Walking Dead. By recently, I mean that I watched the first episode around 15th Jan this year, and binge-watched it right up to the current scenario, the 2nd half of season 5. I know that I'm going to keep watching, and enjoying the great performances, but at the same time I wish this show would give me something back, rather than just taking from me, taking from my emotions and predictably dashing my hopes.

Who knows how long this show will go for... Personally, I think that if the writers don't start to inject a stronger sense of purpose into the story, then its appeal will falter soon, because the fans can't be perpetually entertained by the same thing, the same pattern of building up a character and killing them.

In terms of what has happened so far, I would say YES, The Walking Dead is definitely worth it. Over the course of seasons 1-5, you will see magnificent enriching performances and brilliant stories. Basically, overall, it is a bleak show, it always has been so far, if you choose to invest in the characters experiencing the Zombie apocalypse.

Season 2 is slow in the middle, but I still love it, mainly due to the excellent performance of Jon Bernthal. Season 3 is quite exciting. Season 4 is on a par with that. Season 5 is even better. Overall, I think the show is going from great to amazing.

It might simply not be your genre, The Walking Dead starts very strong for the genre, if you're not feeling it, maybe that's just it, you're not feeling it.
