Does Bipolar Disorder cause Lacunar Amnesia?
I'm interesting in psychology at the moment and I'm currently looking into the causes of Lacunar amnesia, where one forgets a specific event.
Does Bipolar Disorder, or other mental disorders like Schizophrenia cause Lacunar amnesia, or just particular types of amnesia?

This symptom is present in Dissociative Identity Disorder (formally know as Multiple Personality Disorder) and other dissociative disorders.
It can also be a symptom in Bipolar mania, I have Bipolar and have forgotten certain things that have happened when I have been in a manic episode.
Also anyone that has a psychotic disorder can have this symptom too, they often forget any kind of psychotic episode they do have.

It is more likely in dissociative disorders like DID. Borderline Personality Disorder is another where it is common but that is also related to dissociative episodes. Everybody forgets stuff..... It is not just something that the mentally ill deal with. Memory is a slippery phucker. My brother and I have completely different memories of the same events. My mother has a "convenient" memory, promptly forgetting anything that makes her look bad. Trauma can erase pats of your memory..... and yes, so can psychosis, mania, or drug use.....
