Why the silly false claim?
In the United States, atheism is protected under the First Amendment's Free Exercise Clause. In August 2005, in a case where a prison inmate was blocked by prison officials from creating an inmate group to study and discuss atheism, the court ruled this violated the inmate's rights under the First Amendment's Free Exercise Clause. The United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit affirmed previous Supreme Court precedent by ruling atheism be afforded equal protection with religions under the 1st amendment.
Clearly setting out that atheism is NOT a religion but IS afforded the same protection as a religion under the constitution!
The only way primitive religion exists today is through the child abuse of forcing it into very, very young children but thanks to better education and growing intellects so many teens are able to discover the truth, throw off the indoctrination and step into the real world!
So atheism is not a conscious decision or a belief but a realisation!
Sadly your unchristian un-American attitudes surely show you cannot stand living in a democracy with all it's hard won freedoms so why not emigrate to a country with similar attitudes like North Korea for example?!

You cant preach someone into thinking. In the modern world we call this TEACHING.
Atheism is NOT a religion the same way as NOT owning an apple is NOT a Fanboi.
It is only when directly asked an atheist will give any opinion on religion, the same way you would not talk to strangers to promote any ideas you have it would make no sense.

This isn't "God's section," it's a section for questions and answers on religious topics. That includes atheism. This is NOT the "Believers Only" club. There are questions addressed to atheists and questions that atheists have a different perspective on. Many of us studied religion fairly extensively and can answer questions as well as or better than the fundie teenagers here can.

God's section? That's a laugh.
Atheism is not a religion. Atheists are here to either troll or give criticisms.
This is a free forum, so anyone can join in.
You may not like atheists but I'd like to prove you wrong.
I'm one of the most religion tolerant atheists there is. The feelings I receive are not reciprocal.

I come here for the free popcorn. I don't preach atheism. I like to argue and discuss and consider things, and I find the religious section to be interesting at times, and some of the trolling is humorous. I've defended theists posts in this section too, I don't come here to preach, troll (although I will if someone opens the door wide open to it) or upset anyone.

I'm not an atheist. But I can tell you atheism is not a religion and nobody is or can preach lacking faith.

In god's section? I think Yahoo Answers belong to Yahoo and its shareholders and each section do not belong to any particular group. The Religion and Spirituality section is a section about asking and answering questions regarding religion and spirituality. Atheists have a view on this and this is the appropriate section for them to ask and answer questions about that view.

Non-belief in deities isn't a religion, although there may be religions with such a non-belief. Also, this section is about Religion & Spirituality; it isn't "God's section", nor does it belong to gods and goddesses.
I've been interested in religious beliefs, mythology and related matters since I was a child - and I'm now in my 60s.
I'm open about not believing in God, and have been for something like 45 years, since mid-teenage. People have respect for me generally, and I respect others. I live in Wales, in the UK. Most people here happily accept that people might have different religions, or none. It isn't a big deal here.
I get on well with just about everyone, religious or not. I put forward my views on religious beliefs and I read those of others. I know that those with deeply held religious beliefs aren't going to change, and it isn't my intention to get them to change. However, it does show that there are other views.
I sometimes explain how I came from being a devout Catholic to realising in mid-teenage, over 45 years ago, that faith was based upon nothing but itself, that science explained nature satisfactorily without needing supernatural beings, and that religious beliefs were no different to those of ancient beliefs in gods and goddesses.
I try to answer based on my knowledge of scripture, theology, mythology and religion. And I sometimes try to trace religious beliefs, and Bible stories, back to the earlier myths from which they derive.
I think I do so in a neutral manner most of the time, although I might express an opinion concerning actions of a few religious people or organisations that adversely affect freedom of choice and civil and human rights, such as the infamous, and now failed, Proposition 8 in California.
I wonder if your apparent non-inclusive attitude is based on scripture such as "He that is not with me is against me" (Matthew 12:30 and Luke 11:23). That seems to teach believers that those who don't believe as they do are not neutral but enemies. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Address Atheists with your question and one should expect Atheists to respond you can fabricate what ever significance you would like with this but it is after all "your" question. You strive so hard to associate your religion with a perception which makes sense claiming that "they" (stereotyping) preach when they did not but simply answered "your" question, You assert that others are jealous of that which you believe you have. Atheists already know that which you believe hence they are able to answer your pleas for clarification and validation of your beliefs as most have actually read the books that most faiths of today are based in and not just listened and swallowed the BS others have sold to them.

US SUPREME COURT defines Atheism as to "TAKE A POSITION ON DIVINITY " they also state that special position relative for freedom of religion as a position on the subject of divinity that is a legal purpose definition ,,now the Dictionary definition is religion is a belief system concerning a deity and doctrine both of which Atheist do not have a deity or a doctrine ,,,sorry you need to put on your listening ears what doctrine is atheism ? any commandment ,rules regulations . when you find it let me know ,,,i can tell you we only question religions deity concepts and doctrine one can only DISSECT religion thats not preaching that operating snip snip LOL
