im pregnant.. will i get discharged from army?
i am in DEP right now for the national guard. i am 17 years old. Unfortunately i am 7 weeks pregnant. my ship date is April 29. anyways, i want to know whats going to happen when i tell my recruiter that i am pregnant. will i be kicked out/discharged? or what? If discharged will i be forced to reenlist if i dont want to? i dont want to be in basic and leave my baby alone once i have it. PLEASE HELP AND I KNOW YOU ALL ARE GOING TO CALL ME STUPID FOR GETTING PREGNANT, BUT ITS A BLESSING AND A GIFT FROM GOD.

If you are in the National Guard then you are not in the DEP. Regardless of that fact, when it is revealed that you are pregnant you will be discharged and you are free to apply to enlist again six months after you give birth assuming that you meet all requirements at that time. If you choose not to attempt to enlist or your attempt to enlist again is denied then enjoy civilian life.

You cannot ship being pregnant.
I'm not sure how the ANG works if you belong to a unit already they may just wait until you are able to go to BMT. You definitely should let your recruiter know asap.

it may be a blessing from God, but still VERY IRRESPONSIBLE on your part.
you are DONE as far as the military goes. they will test you for pregnancy at MEPS before you leave and you will be sent packing. now it is a TEMP DQ, but if you aren't married, then you are a single parent and you are toast there too.
i won;t call you dumb...jsut very misguided. i could not imagine having a child at 17

You will be released from DEP and all military obligations. Unless you get married, you won't even be able to try enlisting after the baby is born.
