A license to operate a radio station (HAM); A license to transmit on specific frequency (FCC); if broadcasting music, a license to broadcast music (ASCAP, BMI, PRS, PPL, DRM, etc). Real estate for studio, transmitter, tower; A studio, A transmitter tuned to licensed frequency, tower and antenna connected to transmitter. Microphone, sound control board (to mix/control the signals, levels, etc), equipment holding the content if using outside clips, advertising, music, interviews, etc if everything isn't live; recording and storage equipment, computer, software or paper/pen to manage and log the activities of the station (per license). Since licensing is recurring expense, some regular form of income to pay the expenses.
