last week my leopard gecko died. i have no idea why he had a fat tail but his body was getting thin i was going to take him to the vet the day after he died as i noticed his body was getting thin but his tail was fat and healthy

I can't give you a diagnosis unless you answer these questions:
1. How old was the gecko, and how long did you have him?
2. Was he pooping and leaving urates properly?
3. What was he eating, how often, and how much?
4. What substrate were you using?
5. What were the temperatures and humidity levels?
