Can a dance have sound?

I mean, sure it "can", but should it? I'm doing contemporary and I have this one move where I just slap my hands down on my knees, but idk if that's going to look bad or...?

Sure, why not? Some forms of dance-- such as ballet-- are quite strict, but one of the nice things about contemporary is there's room to make things your own, and try new things.

If you want to include sound in your dance, go for it. If you decide you don't like it, you can always remove the sound element.
