Because the models are sold in the United States. Don't think for a second Hyundai sells Tucsons or Santa Fes in Poland or Italy.

Take the Hyundai Sonata- in other markets it is called the i45. So it appears in many cases car companies have different names for the same car based on where the car is sold. This is not unique to the Koran car makers. Even the US car makers have cars they sell with different names based on where the car is to be marketed.

    "Korean".

The manufacturers' marketing departments come up with names for the American market that won't be off-putting to the American ear. All foreign manufacturers do that. And American manufacturers do a similar thing when they sell products overseas.

To appeal to the potential US customers; familiar names breed subconscious approvals.

so that they'd easier to pronounce and appeal to the western markets.
