PHYSICS HOMEWORK HELP: Electric Fields?

In an atom, an electron and a proton are separated by a distance of 1 x 10-8m.

a) Find the force on the electron.

b) Assuming a circular orbit (which wouldn't happen, but we'll go with it) Find the velocity of the electron.

Can you please show me all the formulas and steps required to get the answer, I have to solve more questions like this!

Thank you!

    a) The force is electrostatic:

    F = kQq / d² = 8.99e9N·m²/C² * (1.602e-19C)² / (1e-8m)² = 2.31e-12 N

    b) centripetal force = electrostatic force

    mv² / r = 9.11e-31kg * v² / 1e-8m = 2.31e-12 N

    v = 1.59e5 m/s

    Hope this helps!
