Beginners skateboard help?
Well, I got a skateboard, and I have to ride down a road with a lot of pebbles, so I bust my *** a lot, and I take care of the board, I know how to maintain it, but I have 2 Main problem!
1.when I'm cruising and I go to kick with my back foot to gain speed, it does the opposite, while I go to push, I slow down, like in the act of moving my leg in position to push off, I get slower and sucks,
2.I always drift off to the right when I cruise, I'm assuming it's my leg placement, when I go to turn, do I tilt my back foot as well as my front to twists the trucks? And what's the ideal leg placement of the front and back foot? Like the generic one, I know everyone is different!
THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE, IT MEANS A LOT

No offense to Malachi, but that right handed pushing with the right foot makes absolutely no sense. Your body determines if you're regular footed or goofy footed. It's all how you feel comfortable. I know tons of people who skate goofy footed (push with their left foot), and are right handed. As far as the pebbles that keep stopping you, buy bigger skateboarding wheels. Longboard wheels aren't meant for skateboards, you'll get wheel bite and it'll make you slow down a lot, if not stop completely. As for your trucks making you veer to one side constantly, this could be a variety of reasons. My guess is that either you're leaning too much on one side of the board, or your trucks are too tight. If your trucks are too tight, you won't be able to lean into a turn. Also, you said that you slow down whenever you go to push off and it's hard for you to pick up on speed, check your bearings. They could be blown, or really dirty. If they're blown, you may have to get some new ones (don't throw away all your old ones! Throw away the blown ones, but keep the decent ones for future blown bearings) or if they just run slow you can buy some bearing lube to put in there. That should help speed them up.

We'll a suggestion for the pebbles is to get softer wheels or even longboard wheels. They'll help absorb the bumps. And if you're right handed, you should be pushing with your right foot. Your left foot should be at the front if the board and this foot stays stationary while riding. The right foot does all the work. Make sure you're pushing correctly and that should help. And secondly, make sure your front foot is covering the back 2 bolts on the front truck. Stay as centered on the board as possible. Also to steer, don't tilt your feet or anything, just lean forward to turn right and backward to turn left (assuming you're right handed). Hope this helps! :)
