How do I search for questions that are NOT 2 and 3 days old? How do I search the newest questions? This new Yahoo Answers format is awful!?

At the top of the questions list be sure Answer is underlined not Discover, if it is Discover Click Answer

Discover is the Default and you will see an assortment of day old and resolved Questions

"The newest questions" are the ones on top of any given board. I don't know if I understand your problem, unless you go to boards where not many questions are asked.

As I answer this, your question is the newest question on the Yahoo Answer's board, and you just asked. What am I missing?

If you're looking under the "discover" tab, switch to the "answer" tab where you'll find more recent questions. The "discover" tab is the default so you may have to switch over a lot.
