Can and how can you get a misdemeanor theft charge you plead guilty to expunged in Indiana?

    Gentleman I know has turned his life around after committing a theft which he took full responsibility for. Went back to school and is months away from earning an Associate's degree in Accounting and Bookkeeping. Criminal record involving a misdemeanor theft charge pleaded to 7 + years ago is hindering his job hunting. Is there a way he can get the charge expunged or wiped off his record ?
