ugh... a guy gives 2 middle fingers and says "*****" (which does happen on occasion even in PG era) and everyone is screaming "PG era is over!"

first of all, ambulance matches have still been around in the PG era. in fact 3/4 of them have been in PG era (2012, 2013, 2015. only been 4 in WWE)

Casket match- true, the Bryan/Kane match was the first of the PG era. however, i would not consider this a big deal. there are many more dangerous matches out there that are still used regularly. plus, watch a handful of the Casket matches pre-PG era. they were 100x more dangerous and far less family friendly.

swearing being bleeped out- swearing is always bleeped, at least the really bad ones are usually. even though RAW is live there is a time lapse during promos, meaning they are a minute or so behind on TV so they can bleep stuff if they cuss. idk why this would mean they are chipping away at PG era though. maybe you meant

they "aren't" bleeping swears? like i said, the b word is tossed around every once in a while. not like he said the F word or S word or anything like that.

ladder matches- what? these have been around forever. in fact, not having looked it up, i would guess that there have been more ladder matches in the PG era than there were between 2000-2008.

it is true that WWE is trying to become more edgey. back in late 2014 the average age of WWE veiwers was in the 40s, with almost 30% being over 50 (more than any other age group). they are just trying to reach a younger audience. the 20-30 age group generally watches the most TV in general so they are trying to satisfy them. at the same time they want to be family friendly so they can satisfy the overprotective parents who won't let their younger kids watch a TV-14 product.

as for chipping away at the PG era, no. PG era is here to stay at least for the foreseeable future. they have no reason to change and likely never will have one. PG era is the safest bet for them without any real competition.

It's kind of a new era, I like to call it the Network Era, because they're trying to appeal to more people instead of just kids, they want to make it kind of a nostalgic thing.
