I would save Elmo because he is so cute. And Elmo cares about society unlike the Cookie Monster

Elmo because Cookie monster is doing the same old thing, making mess with cookie but Elmo is shaking around and has a world and I can turn the volume down and change the channel to it and his doll is a good puppet for pretending to be anyone

Cookie Monster but both seem to be lighted weight monsters so it shouldn't take long to save both. But I'd choose Cookie Monster.

Cookie Monster because if I go for Elmo... he would probably tickle me once I pull him up and we will both end up falling to our deaths... along with cookie monster

Both saved!! No deaths!! And I'd eat all the cookies before cookie monster...and get to see superman.
