the scars never go away.; If youre a teen, remember that the teen years are the absolute worst time of life. I am surprised any of us survive it. You are struggling with so much stress, pressures, changes... Your body and mind are trying to cope but ... its hard, dealing with unpredictable hormones and roller coaster emotions.

The brain is a very complicated and delicate thing. It can get messed up and be unable to produce sufficient serotonin. This is called a chemical imbalance ... which is easily treated, very common and nothing to be ashamed of.

It can cause depression, anxiety, panic, obsession, self harm/self hatred, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, sleeping problems, aggression/rage, anger, phobias, fears, helplessness, hopelessness, hypochondria, OCD, paranoia, headaches, lack of interest in things, lack of motivation/ focus and much more.

According to those who have gone to therapists, counselors and psychiatrists, they dont help much. Worse, they are not even allowed to prescribe appropriate meds to help you get better.

Tell a dr. about your symptoms and ask for anti-depressants. Zoloft/Sertraline is a good one; most people thrive on it and it has no side effects. It produces more serotonin which enables the brain to function properly.

With the right antidepressants, you will be much better, happier, calmer, confident, relaxed and normal. What a difference it makes!! You need them, so stay ON them.

Then, find big HAPPY churches, attend some youth groups there and have fun. Talk with the pastor/minister or the youth pastor/leader. They have more wisdom than you and I. And where else can you get FREE counseling?

Troubled people need peace; a good pastor can show you how to have perfect peace. God loves you more than you can possibly imagine :)

It completely depends, when I use to cut some went and I'm left with quite a lot of white lines on my legs that are probably never going to go, I also have a really deep scar on my ribs. So no they don't usually go but some will and they will fade slightly into white lines. They can be covered with foundation and concealor but obviously if you go swimming it'll wash off. Please try and not cut. If you need someone to talk feel free to message me :)

  • While I can't condone this, whether or not it leaves a scar (and how bad the scar is) depends on how deep/severe the cut is. If it's just something like a paper cut, obviously those will heal. But if it gets too much worse than that, you run the risk of having scars.

It's great that you are reaching out for help! We are so sorry to hear that you have been cutting. It's so important that you reach out for support from a trusted adult such as a parent, aunt, uncle, school counselor, teacher, coach, or minister. It depends whether you want to believe the rumors spread by unscrupulous elements OR mischief monger. It seems both of them are not really interested in your Mental Health. In such critical situations, Self Help is the Best Help. You should know who you are. Know thyself first.

In any case, consult a professionally qualified doctor if you have any such genuine doubts about your mental health.
