all depends on the falconer, those with more facility space to keep them might have more, 1 or 2 is about average. A professor of mine used to falconry, I think he had two at one point.

Technically, the birds aren't owned by the falconer, but by the state that issued the falconer's license. In the event the license is forfeit, so are the birds.
