A "girl" was accompanying a few people that came to my event. We're all talking and when she said her name, I was a little taken back and my face must have shown it because then she said that it was usual for people to mistake her as a man and she's use to it and hates it. It puzzled the hell out of me. She dresses like a man, carries herself in a butch way, her hair is shaved all the way down, she likes women (that I'm assuming) BUT she doesn't want people to think of her as a "dude"????? Help me understand this please.

You don't need to understand it. You just need to accept the fact that people get p1ssed off when you misgender them.
What am I? I am the person who's telling you that you're being unpardonably rude. I have a real answer. It's not my problem that you seem unable to understand it.
