Where can I find the points to determine a first printing/first edition of Patricia Cornwell's POST MORTEM?
The volume in question is from 1990. It has no edition number or printing history line marked.
It's a regular edition, not a book club issue.

Check under the printing date. There should be a row of numbers like this:
10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
According to at least one website:
"A number sequence that has a "1" at the end such as "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1" indicates a first printing. But, if the lowest number showing is 2, such as "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2" then the book is a second printing "
Maybe that will clarify it for you. I've included links in the source to 3 dealers that have instructions on how to figure out if a book is a first printing.
