Home cures for depression?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what worked for you when it came to depression? I'm looking for non drug cures as I would rather not be dosed up on medication. I have two children to look after..this isn't the first time I have felt this way and frankly I just need someone to tell me that there are ways to help!I'm tired of feeling like the day is too long, when I'm so lucky to have a loving husband and two healthy children. I feel selfish that I could even begin to feel down..and yet it creeps up on me at regular intervals during my life and I'm just so fed up. I'd love to wake up in the morning and feel serene, instead of having anxiety attacks that take my breath away. I feel like I don't want to see anyone and holding down stable friendships has become impossible. I alienate myself from fear I'll just feel worse after. I know I'll just go home and obsess over 'I shouldn't have said this' or 'I shouldn't have done that' and I hate myself. So I avoid it altogether. I've tried counseling but where I live it's very expensive. Any tips or personal stories would be much appreciated. Thank you

There is no home cure for depression. It's a chemical imbalance in your brain that needs to be corrected. Doing things that help fight depression are only temporary. (Playing with animals, painting, exercising, etc).

Source(s): I've been fighting depression for 4 years. 2 of which have been medicated.

Depression is the opposite of happy.

Negative is the opposite of positive.

wrong is the opposite of right

hate is the opposite of love

    etc etc

What you're doing is living in the wrong side of your brain, so you're thinking wrong.

It takes alot of practise but you need to start living in the right, with love, with a positive mental attitude, stop saying you cant, start saying you can. Stop telling people you're depressed, start telling people you're happy.

The reason you're depressed is because you say you are. Just be the opposite of what you dont want. Its as simple as that
