if your parents filed a tax return at all, they should have a copy in their files that they keep important papers for at least 4 yrs
if they don't have one they can request a copy from IRS which will cost them $50
they can also request a free transcript(not an official copy of their return) on form 4506 T
it is possible if they are unable to supply the required information for that transcript, your only choice is to pay the $50 and get an official copy

I need an official copy of my parents Tax Return for the University I will be attending soon, but I can't seem to be able to figure out how. I tried using their website but it just says "A transcript is not available for the year you have requested" but it's already been like a month since we filed our taxes. I also tried using the phone but the automated lady says the same thing. I believe I'm doing everything right because I just ordered my tax return with no problem.
-My dad called (I'm not sure who) and they said that everything was already completed
-could it have to do with the fact that my parents have to use a tin# rather than social security?
Can someone please help me, I'm desperate. =(

You can get a copy but it will cost you. Go to the IRS website to order it. Note that you cannot get it until your return has been processed.
Better to get a transcript. This is free and is accepted for student loans etc.

It has everything to do with the fact that it's only a month since you filed, which is much too soon. They often don't process them that fast.

This isn't Jeopardy. You need to state your question in the form of a question.
