B&B, did the writers get the Maya story line from the Massachusetts court case?

I live in Massachusetts and there is a guy in prison for murdering his wife. He has been allowed to take female hormones. He went to court and the judge actually granted him a sex change. We, the taxpayers, would have to foot the bill. That decision has recently been overturned because of the backlash. This prisoner is still trying to fight to get it. But it is possible that Maya did get a sex change in prison. @ Gigapie, How does this make me a homophobic that I don't want to have to pay for a convicted murderers sex change? If you want a sex change go get one, I could care less. But if you want me to pay for it then that's what I have a problem with. I also don't like the fact that this murderer even persuaded the courts to allow it the first time around. I don't care if you're gay, straight, bi or whatever. What I care about is having to pay for a murderers sex change operation. That's it. Would you be happy to pay for it then? I'll get you his address at the prison he's serving in if you like.
