I'm trying to learn more about contouring my face with makeup?
Does anyone have any good links to youtube tutorials or something? I'm a complete beginner and I want to get better at it, because it would open up some more possibilities in my favorite hobby (cosplay).
If it's relevant, my foundation is usually the lightest shade of ivory you can buy in most brands, and I prefer liquids and stick types of makeup to powder. I have an moderately oily complexion and powder has just gotten cakey no matter how much prep work I do.
Oh and just in case anyone is wondering, the look I'm trying to accomplish is making my cheek bones more prominent than they are now. Not TOO dramatic, but I've got a round face, so contouring is a must if I want them to stand out here.
And I'd go look for videos on my own but I know there's lots of people on here who probably have makeup gurus they like on Youtube, so I figured rather than weeding through thousands of them, I could talk to you guys and you would know where to go right away!

It depends on the shape of your face and what kind of products you want to use. Most contouring tutorials will teach you with powder, but I prefer cream highlight (Maybelline F.i.t. me foundation stick) as it looks more like a healthy glow and less ashy, and cake-y/powdery looking. I learned how to contour from Pinterest. There are TONS of diagrams and different patterns. Try them out and find what works best for your face, then practice! Contouring/highlighting requires a balance of blending--blend too much and it looks like you didn't do anything, don't blend enough and it looks horrible.
