Are there 27.5 ( 650b) riders in the Cape Epic competitions? Most look like 29ers---so are there?

    For shorter riders, 29" wheels can make for a bike that is very awkward to ride. The smaller slightly lighter wheels are better suited to building a bike for shorter people. For really short people, 26" wheels may be better yet. So there are probably people doing this race with 650 B wheels

    I am sure some ride the 650b it is a very popular size right now.

    I think an event like that with as much distance 29r would be my choice
