Yet another boxer says Floyd needs to go on offense to win vs. Pacquiao. What do you think of this strategy?
That other boxing being RJJ. Previously Mike Tyson made a similar observation.

Do you think its the right strategy? And if so, can he still execute it like he did when he was younger? Or do you think its safer for Floyd to stick to the defensive strategy that has worked so well??

That is absolutely true. You have to bring the fight to Pacquiao to beat him. That's what I've been saying all along. The guys who had success against Pac are basically those who stood their ground and fought back. Torrecampo, Medgoen, Morales, Marquez, even Bradley (although a robbery) were willing to trade with Pac. Those that scored KD against Manny aint defense oriented and would slug; Hussein, Sheriszhan, even Barrera and Mosely (although truly slips). Larios almost kayoed Manny in 3rd. Same with Margarito in 5th. Cotto too had Manny in trouble in rounds 1-2. None of the aforementioned fighters fought the same way Floyd fights.
Now consider these my friend;
1. Manny likes to go against undefeated fighters.
2. Manny likes to chase opponents that run away from him.
3. Manny likes to fight as the underdog. Actually he stopped all opposition fighting as one.
Now consider these;
Floyd hates the southpaw stance. Had troubles against fast fighters and those type that swarm him.
You combine all these and all i see is Pac.
The bad news for TMT, Floyd wont take those unsolicited advice.
These and all and now Floyd's 0 loss record doesnt look too good anymore.

Marquez an offensive counter who is the best combination puncher gave pacquiao hell because of his combos and offenseive counter punching style. Floyd is a defensive counter puncher but rarely throws combos he throws accurate potshots. Idk if that'll be enough to keep Pac off him so yeah he has to be more offensive like he was back then. That's why I give Pac the edge 55/45 of winning the fight. In 2009/2010 it was a 50/50 fight. Late 2011-2013 I had Floyd beating him quite easy 60/40. Now I have Pac at 55/45 of winning. Clash of styles and I see floyd getting the bad out of it now.

floyd doesnt have the chin to go offense against pac... and he will not trade his health just for the sake of showin off how durable his chin is either... he made that remark very clear for years now.
well he got heredia so we'll see what changes...sad but pac should get wada to test floyd bc floyd owns usada

Floyd does so well on defense and countering with his straight right lead. Personally, I wouldn't change now.

If it goes to the cards Mayweather wins, I do not see the judges giving it to Pacquiao, since he is a foreigner and Mayweather is popular.
