Why don't we have walking vehicles?
Just wondering, they look really cool in sci-fi environments, but why don't we have them today?

In two words, extreme complexity. Wheels are simpler, cheaper and more energy-efficient. The only advantage a walking vehicle would give you is that it can go over terrain that a wheeled vehicle can't. I think we'll see military walkers going into service in the next 20-30 years.

Rolling wheels are way easier to make work, be reliable, and build for a reasonable price. Your question does bring up what would tire stores look like if vehicles walked? Would they sell walking car shoes? Modern people would probably prefer running vehicles to be comparable to what they are used to.

Imperial Walkers were the absolute worst piece of warefare equipment ever invented. You saw just how easy it was to wrap the robotic legs and knock the whole thing over.
