I recieved a questionnaire about jury duty in the mail?

I got a questionnaire regarding whether or not I am qualified for federal jury duty. If I have already served in my county this year, would I be able to serve in a federal courtroom in the same year?

As the others have indicated, you can serve in both--the federal and the state/local courts are completely separate and don't exchange juror lists.

However, if you've served a long stretch on a state jury and then get called to federal jury, you might be able to explain to the judge that you've already been away from your job for a lengthy period due to state jury duty, and ask if you can be excused from federal as it would be an unusual burden to serve on both in the same year. The judge might say okay, if you asked politely.
