Will my friend be able to get a motorcycle permit with a suspended license?

My friend and I both live in CA & were supposed to buy motorcycles together before the summer starts but he recently got a DUI driving home about 2 months ago and got his license suspended, he's 17 as well & is going to court this Friday. Will this keep him from getting his motorcycle permit ?

Yes, he's stuffed. A suspended licence applies to ALL classes of vehicle.

The motorcycle permit is not a separate licence, it's just another "class" on your drivers licence. Loose your licence, and you loose them all.

17 and DUI usually means a zero tolerance ticket and suspension until 21 or 2 years instead of the usual first time as adult 1 year.
