I'm going to a 90s party. I don't want to look too bad or out of place. Should I go grunge or traditional goth and why?

Update:

I'm a teenage goth girl so I don't have much other clothing besides goth things. :/

    You can go either ways, whichever you want.

    Parties are for having fun-not being self-conscious.

    If you're short on budget, then it would make sense to utilize what you have.

    Go goth. Because it is cooler. Omg I just got a flash back..my niece was goth..black hair, black lipstick..heavy eye liner, nose ring..trench coat..tall black boots..stripped shirt with a skull on it. Wow..I'm old. :D
