When can I てある while talking in a sentence in Japanese?

I assume you mean when can you use the verb conjugation -てある.
This form means the same as -ている but with more of an inanimate meaning.
For example you would say 名前は本のカバーに書いてある (The name is written on the cover of the book) or ジャーはシェルフに置いてある (the jar is on the shelf).
