Your best bet is to get a used 2014 Chevolet Silverado 1500 as you can get one for as little as $24k.

Though looking a bit more, I have found a 2015 Chevolet Silverado 1500 for about $30k, but that's on the lower end scale. But you do realize that new vehicles have a significant depreciation value the minute you drive off the lot. This is where getting a used vehicle might be better, even if its just a year old.

Check all the current rebates......very easy to get 10k in discounts on new full size pickups after rebates and dealer discounts if ur timing is right..(that's why u never buy a used pickup).I bought a new 2014 SC F150 Stx sport package , auto 5.0 , alloys, for 24400 before tax and plates....it can be done

27 ain't gonna get you much for a brand new vehicle in any class. 3,000 (or more) will go to tax tag and title.

Best you're going to get in a pickup (assuming full sized) is a bare-bones base model F150 or Ram 1500. You MIGHT get a Silverado if you can get a great deal.

If you want to go with a smaller one, you can get a 2015 Tacoma or GMC Canyon/Chevy Colorado.

Any way you go, you are only getting a lower end vehicle. At least on the smaller ones, you can afford a FEW toys.

Drive them all, do your research. Buy the one you like the most.

Ford, Chevy/GMC and Toyota are at the top. I'd avoid a Nissan.

GM, either Chevrolet or GMC, obviously you can't afford a Ram diesel.
