This is a simple question to answer. You make a budget of what you have to spend on the monthly necessary
things, and the answer would be there for you.
You would have to decide for yourself how much you are able to pay for rent or how much you would like to pay for rent.
All the percentages the government has provided might not work for you.
If you want to be financially successful, you would need to make a budget that would include potential rent, savings, entertainment, utilities, transportation, insurance (car, renters and health) food, clothing and other things you would like to include in your budget.
In your budget if your expenditures exceed your income, your budget would not work. You would have to rework your figures.
Without a budget, you will not succeed even with the percentages that say you are able to live if you devote a certain percentage toward rent. You have to know where the other portion of your income is going and how it would work for you.
I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.
