Can Psychology solve Social problems?

There are so many Social problems - racism, social stratification, religious conflicts, etc. . Can psychology solve these without Sociology?

I think Sociology is the only study that can solve social problems by understanding it best. What do you think?

Sociology is really an exercise in theory and opinion. There is no rational aspect to sociology. Societal ills are caused by human nature and not solved by any social science. That is not to say that society's problems have no solution, some can be addressed through changes in education and values. Education should focus more on life skills and character and less on academics. Were children to develop good qualities (responsibility, tenacity, honesty, character, etc.) in school, they would be more prone to develop into good citizens and create a prosperous society. Most sociologists do not believe in rational ways to address societal ills.

It helps me understand some problems a bit more. Solve them? Understanding them is one of the many steps to being able to solve them. It is a start.

no, because psychology doesn't account for social forces, institutions, and history. It doesn't fix the bigger problem, but it would help us understand people's reactions to the problem

No study can really solve anything on its own, only action plans can
